Overhead Crane Travel Wear-Resistant Winding Cable: Specially Designed for High-Frequency Lifting and Heavy-Duty Conditions
Overhead cranes (hoists), as core industrial lifting equipment, require their cables to frequently coil and uncoil with the lifting mechanism, the main trolley, and the auxiliary trolley, while also enduring dragging, friction, mechanical impact, as well as oil and dust erosion. Wear resistance and winding fatigue resistance are the core performance requirements. In design, targeted solutions address the pain points of 'core easily breaks under repeated bending,' 'outer layer easily wears,' and 'unstable dynamic stress,' ensuring continuous and reliable lifting operations.
1. Core structure: three-layer protection, balancing wear resistance and anti-wrapping
1. Anti-fatigue conductor: solves the problem of winding core breakage
Using IEC 60228 Class 6/7 multi-strand ultra-fine copper wires, an anti-torsion balanced structure is formed through "layered reverse twisting." During winding, the conductor can undergo slight deformation to offset bending stress, preventing copper wire fatigue fractures; at the same time, flexibility is enhanced, suitable for a small bending radius of 6-8 times the outer diameter of overhead crane drums, reducing internal pulling damage.
2. Strengthen the insulation layer: isolate damage and electrical hazards
Select oil-resistant and heat-resistant modified PVC or TPEE materials, with thickness controlled between 0.6-1.8mm according to the overhead crane voltage level (380V/6kV, etc.), and tightly extrude to cover the conductor. This not only resists friction of the wire core during winding and prevents short circuits, but also withstands erosion from hydraulic oil and lubricating oil, preventing material swelling and aging, ensuring insulation stability.
3. Ultra-high wear-resistant outer sheath: Resists external friction and impact
The outer layer is made of high-elasticity, wear-resistant PUR, with wear resistance 4-6 times that of ordinary cables. It can be optimized according to working conditions:
Smooth-type sheath: reduces friction resistance with the reel, suitable for high-speed winding;
Thickened sheath: The thickness of the drooping section and near the joints is increased to 2.0-3.0mm, enhancing impact and crushing resistance.
2. Key performance: Adapted to the harsh working conditions of overhead cranes
Ultra-long winding life: The number of dynamic bending cycles exceeds 8 million, far surpassing the 3 million cycle limit of ordinary cables, reducing replacement frequency.
Wide temperature and environmental resistance: Operating temperature -40℃ to 105℃, resistant to brittleness at low temperatures and softening at high temperatures, also weather-resistant and ozone-resistant, suitable for outdoor exposure or high-dust workshops.
Tensile and torsion resistance: Some models are equipped with built-in Kevlar fiber tensile layers, with a tensile strength ≥1500N, capable of withstanding the cable's own weight tension during lifting; the anti-torsion design prevents winding and knotting, ensuring smooth retraction and deployment.
Long length adaptation: Supports customization of 100-500m per single piece, meeting the high lifting height requirements of overhead cranes
3. Selection and Usage Precautions
1. Select model according to working conditions
Indoor bridge crane: choose wear-resistant PUR sheath with medium tensile layer, suitable for enclosed environments such as machinery and assembly workshops;
Outdoor gantry crane: equipped with weather-resistant PUR sheath and Kevlar high-tensile layer, designed to withstand outdoor wind, rain, and UV exposure in ports and yards;
2. Key Points for Use and Maintenance
Equipped with a reel and cable guide to prevent cable misalignment and squeezing, and sheath damage.
The joint is protected with a waterproof sealing cover to prevent dust and oil from penetrating.
Control the speed when lifting to avoid the cable suddenly being subjected to forces beyond its tensile limit.
The overhead crane wear-resistant winding cable centers on "structural adaptation for winding and material resistance to wear," solving the problem of frequent frequent expansion and release through three-layer coordination, providing a key guarantee for safe and continuous operation of lifting operations.
