Shanghai Suoqi Cable releases shield machine cable selection manual to support underground construction
Recently, Shanghai Suoqi Cable officially released the shield machine cable selection manual, providing comprehensive and professional cable selection guidance for underground construction. The manual details the types, performance characteristics, and application scenarios of shield machine cables, helping engineers and project decision-makers accurately choose suitable cables, ensuring safe and efficient operation of shield machines.
With the acceleration of urbanization, the number of underground construction projects such as subways and tunnels has been continuously increasing. As core equipment for underground construction, the cable performance of shield machines directly affects construction safety and efficiency. Leveraging years of experience in cable research and production, Shanghai Suoqi Cable has launched this selection manual, providing important reference for the industry.
Core Points of Shield Machine Cable Selection Analysis
The manual, starting from practical project needs, establishes a three-dimensional selection system of "parameter matching - environmental adaptation - performance redundancy." The core points include:
1. Accurate matching of electrical parameters
Voltage levels: According to the power of the main drive motor of the shield machine, three main levels are divided: 0.6/1kV (medium and small power equipment), 3.6/6kV (mainstream tunneling equipment), and (large shield machines). The manual includes a power-voltage selection table to avoid the risk of 'using a small motor to pull a big load' or overloading.
Conductor current carrying capacity: Uses multi-stranded ultra-fine precision-twisted oxygen-free copper wire (compliant with VDE0295 class 6 standard), with a cross-sectional area designed to meet a continuous current carrying capacity with a 30% margin. For example, a 370mm² conductor is suitable for a 450kW motor, and 3120mm² can cover equipment above 630kW.
2. Selection for environmental adaptability
Geological condition guidance: For rock strata, polyurethane sheathed cables are preferred (abrasion resistance coefficient reaches 0.8mm³/N·m, which is 1/5 of rubber sheathing); for soft soil shield tunneling projects, neoprene sheathing can be used to balance cost and water resistance.
Special environment response: For high-humidity tunnels, a double-layer insulated aluminum-plastic composite tape shielded structure is recommended, with a waterproof rating of IP68; for corrosive strata, a polyolefin sheath should be used to withstand acidic and alkaline environments with pH values of 3-11.
3. Strict consideration of dynamic performance
Bending and torsion: Reel cables must meet the requirement of 'minimum bending radius ≤ 6 times the cable outer diameter.' With the aramid braided tensile layer, they can withstand ±360° repeated torsion (test life ≥ 100,000 cycles).
Dynamic load: The instantaneous tensile force during tunnel boring machine propulsion can reach 5kN, and the cable must pass a dynamic tensile test (1000 continuous cycles without breakage).
